Back by popular demand, Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo returns to Tucson after a standout festival appearance that made him an immediate audience favorite. A GRAMMY®-nominated virtuoso celebrated for his dazzling technique, effortless swing, and joyful stage presence, Figueiredo brings Bossa and Samba Duetsto La Rosa—a one-of-a-kind evening pairing Brazilian rhythm and jazz improvisation with an array of special guests.
The program draws from the music that has defined Figueiredo’s career: bossa nova, samba, jazz, and Brazilian song, reimagined through intimate duets and unexpected collaborations. Joining him are artists including Ballet Tucson, acclaimed saxophonist Brice Winston, drummer Arthur Vint, and additional guests, creating a performance that moves fluidly between guitar, dance, rhythm, and spontaneous musical conversation.
With performances in more than 60 countries and collaborations with artists including Gilberto Gil, Stanley Jordan, Cyrille Aimée, and Chuchito Valdés, Figueiredo has become one of the most distinctive guitarists of his generation. At La Rosa, audiences can expect the same virtuosity and warmth that brought them to their feet last year—this time in a fresh, collaborative celebration of Brazilian music, movement, and irresistible swing.
