Will you win the 2026 Dickens Best Dressed Contest?Step back in time and step out in style! Each year at Dickens of a Christmas, hundreds of festival-goers don their finest Victorian-era finery — top hats and tailcoats, bustles and bonnets, capes and crinolines — for the annual Best Dressed Showcase, presented by Christine A. Moore Millinery.
What began in 2015 as a simple Victorian stroll down Main Street has grown into one of the festival's most beloved traditions, now celebrating more than a decade of Dickensian splendor.
Contestants register Saturday morning at the Deane Center and take the outdoor stage at 1 p.m., where judges select the most splendidly attired ladies, gentlemen, couples, and young ones.
The grand prize? A custom hat from renowned New York City milliner Christine A. Moore herself — plus glass stars, Chamber Bucks, and gift certificates from Wellsboro's finest shops. Don your gayest apparel and join the promenade. After all, in Dickens's London, one simply must dress for the occasion!
After the contest, all are invited to participate in the annual stroll through the streets of Wellsboro! Smile – someone is bound to take your picture!!
