About this Event
Diablo Canyon is located on one of the most scenic and habitat-rich coastlines in the country. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of Diablo Canyon and explore its expansive coastal lands. This is a guided bus tour open to the public and free of charge. Registration is required.
Tour Date: Saturday September 19th, 2026
Morning Tour: 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Check-in at the PG&E Energy Education Center begins at 9:15 a.m.
Afternoon Tour: 1:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Check-in at the PG&E Energy Education Center begins at 12:45 p.m.
Meeting location: PG&E Energy Education Center, 6588 Ontario Rd, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
Parking is free. A shuttle bus will transport participants to the plant and surrounding lands and return them to the meeting location at the conclusion of the tour
Check-in begins 15 minutes before the scheduled tour time. Please plan to arrive on time.
We recommend bringing water for personal hydration, using sun protection, and dressing in layers, as weather conditions may vary and can include both sunny and windy conditions during your visit.
Site Appropriate Attire
For your safety there is a dress code required for all plant visitors.
Required Attire
■ Pants
■ Socks
■ Shirts with short or long sleeves (shoulders covered)
■ Shoes, tennis shoes, or boots that have a hard flat sole, and both closed toes and closed heels; the top of the foot should not be visible; and heels must be less than 1.5 inches tall
Prohibited Attire
■ Shorts, skirts, or other attire that exposes legs or ankles
■ Tank tops or sleeveless shirts
■ Sandals, low-cut slip-ons, clogs, crocs, ballet-style shoes, or shoes with heels over 1.5 inches tall
Prohibited Items while on DCPP Property
Do not bring the following in your vehicle or on your person:
■ Firearms ■ Ammunition ■ Alcohol ■ Kombucha-type drinks ■ Explosives ■ Incendiary devices ■ Medications not in original packaging ■ Weapons, including knives or pocketknives
Cellular Service
Verizon Wireless is the only cellular provider with service on the plant site.
In the unlikely event of an emergency while onsite DIAL 779 from any plant phone or 805-545–1234 from a Verizon mobile device. Diablo Canyon takes very seriously the health and safety of our coworkers and protecting California’s vital energy resource. Any person who has flu-like symptoms, or was recently ill, should stay home and not visit the facility.
