Sadly, this year we noticed cultural appropriation in other “Día de Muertos” events used mainly to attract customers to venues. Día de Muertos is a sacred Mexican tradition, linked to pre-Hispanic cultures and to the way we process loss, death, and love. Not a Mexican Halloween or a trend. However, we are honoured to continue sharing this Mexican and Mesoamerican tradition here in Chiang Mai — a space to remember our loved ones, co-create an altar, and honour life, death, and the bonds that stay with us.
We want to grow the community around this deep and beautiful Mexican celebration, so if you feel called to bring a workshop, ritual, music, or an activity that truly contributes to this spirit, **please contact us**. We’d love to build this together in the right way.
We invite you to join us with respect and presence. It is a collective grief space, rooted in Ancestral Mexican tradition, to celebrate those who have passed and to keep our memory alive.
Let’s build this together!
