A Celebration of Life, Culture, and Community! FREE TO THE PUBLIC.The Latino Outreach Council invites the community to Mission Plaza to celebrate Día de los Muertos, a cherished Mexican tradition that honors and remembers loved ones who have passed. Far from a time of mourning, Día de los Muertos celebrates life, memory, and the enduring bond between families and those who came before them.
Stroll among traditional altars (ofrendas) adorned with marigolds, candles, photographs, and favorite foods, lovingly created to welcome the spirits of the departed home. Enjoy the music of mariachi and the color and movement of folklórico dancers. Visit community booths, savor traditional food and drinks, and create your own crafts inspired by the holiday's rich artistry.
Guests are welcome to honor the tradition with catrina and catrín face painting, available on-site, or with traditional attire, flowers, and festive dress. Families of all ages are welcome to learn, remember, and celebrate together.
Presented by the Latino Outreach Council, with gratitude to our sponsors: San Luis Obispo County Office of Education, Joan Sargen, Frederick & Tindula Law Firm, inBalance Green Consulting, and Noble Productions & Marketing.
