About this Event
🌼 Día de los Muertos: Ancestral Mask-Making Workshop 🌼
Saturday, October 17 | 11:00 AM–12:30 PM
SoZo Healing House, Suite 112 - Yoga Studio | Tempe, AZ
As the seasons begin to shift and we move deeper into autumn, we enter a time that many cultures recognize as an invitation to remember—to honor those who came before us and tend the connection between past, present, and future generations.
Join The Medicine Way for a creative Día de los Muertos–inspired mask-making workshop centered around remembrance, ancestry, creativity, and sacred connection.
Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, carries deep Mexican and Indigenous cultural roots and is traditionally a time to lovingly welcome, remember, and honor ancestors and loved ones who have passed. Rather than approaching death only through grief, this tradition reminds us that remembrance can also be filled with beauty, color, storytelling, gratitude, and celebration.
During our time together, we will create and decorate masks inspired by the imagery and symbolism associated with Día de los Muertos. As we create, we will be invited to reflect upon our own ancestors, lineage, and the people whose lives have helped shape who we are today.
No artistic experience is necessary. This is about expression, intention, and creating from the heart.
✨ What We Will Explore:
• The meaning and cultural significance of Día de los Muertos
• Ancestral remembrance and veneration
• Creating a personalized ceremonial-inspired mask
• Reflection on lineage, memory, and gratitude
• A gentle space for creativity, connection, and community
*All materials will be provided.
Class donation: $20 Members w/promo code; $25 non-Members
Come create with us as we honor those who walked before us and remember that, through story, memory, love, and ceremony, our ancestors continue to walk beside us. 🌼🕯️💀
