Join novelist and prize-winning short fiction writer Molly Aitken (The Island Child, 2021, and Bright I Burn, 2024) on a 4-week deep dive into characterisation and character-driven plotting.
You’ll come away with the tools for creating strong, memorable protagonists and a cast of supporting characters.
This is ideal for anyone with a novel in progress. Or, through exploring character-building, an idea for a novel might be born!

Tutor
Molly Aitken is based in Sheffield but hails from Ireland. She is the author of Bright I Burn, a RSL Encore Prize shortlisted novel. It was a BBC Best Books of 2024 and an Irish Bestseller. Her debut was The Island Child. Molly's prize-winning short fiction has been published in The New Yorker and Ploughshares, and dramatised for BBC Radio 4.
