About this Event
As technology accelerates and synthetic experiences become increasingly common, what remains uniquely human?
The Design & Craft Conference brings together international creative leaders, luxury brands, designers, makers, cultural institutions and innovators to explore the value of authenticity in the 21st century. Through craft, design and storytelling, the conference examines how human skill, cultural heritage and creativity continue to shape meaningful products, brands, places and experiences.
How do we preserve authenticity in an increasingly artificial world?
Presented as part of Irish Design Week 2026 this Craft Design (or Design for Craft) conference celebrates the contribution made by the relationship of design and craft disciplines to culture, innovation and business.
Bringing together voices from crafts, luxury, textiles and the creative industries the conference examines the value of craftsmanship and importance of luxury for society along with the role of collaborations for creative and economic success .
The conference asks questions on the values society places on craftsmanship, its place in luxury goods, related employment and how the world is enhanced by the resulting sustainably designed goods.
