Silverheels Recording Artist and Two-time JUNO Award winner Derek Miller, one of the most celebrated and distinctive Indigenous artists in Canada, takes Outta My Head across North America — a tour built on the power of a great song, a great band and the electricity of rock & roll.An Onondaga/Mohawk artist from Six Nations of the Grand River, Miller has spent his career refusing to be defined by genre or expectation. A poet, a rebel, a storyteller and a guitar slinger, he has carved his own path through rock & roll, blues, soul and roots music — always following the song and always following his own road.
Outta My Head is about being alive — love, loss, freedom, desire and the beautiful trouble we find along the way.
Also joining Derek on his national tour is singer/songwriter extraordinaire Lacey Hill & the Sexy Mofo’s. The tour will feature various Indigenous musicians at each stop as the tour rocks its way across the country.
The Vancouver album release will be at The Wise, 1882 Adanac Street, on Wednesday, September 30th, which is also the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. Fellow Six Nations Artists will also be on the line-up…with musician, and JUNO winner Murray Porter opening the show, and hosted by actor/singer/songwriter Cheri Maracle.
