Cornetist Derek Budd was one of the rising stars of the traditional jazz boom back in the 1960s. He was part of Colin Kingwell's Jazz Bandits, which beat 800 other bands in 1963 to win a national competition for jazz bands, judged by Humphrey Lyttelton and Chris Barber. Now after a career in music of more than 60 years he makes his debut at the Paris House. The full line-up is Derek, on cornet, Nils Solberg on guitar and vocals, Mick Hamer on piano and Nick McGuigan on double bass.
(And thanks to Colin Metcalfe for the photo of Derek in action.)
