About this Event
Long before we had Halloween, the festival of Samhain marked the end of the summer and the beginning of Celtic Year. This was a signfiicant time for our ancestors, who lived much closers to the cycles and rhythms of nature.
Samhain marks the start of the darker half of the year. A time to retreat and rest in the darkness. Of course, modern life doesn't quite work like that. We wake up to alarm clocks, keep a busy schedule, and ours days can stretch as long as we want with artificial light.
When we gather in circle, we are re-connecting to an old way of being. Our ancestors would spend the long winter nights storytelling, which may include tales of their ancestors, ghosts and spirits.
At Samhain the veil between the living and the dead is especially thin. People are said to have sliped into the otherworld or faery realm and the spirits of the dead can visit the living.
We gather for Samhain, connecting to old traditions and making up our own.
🌿 What to Expect
This circle is open to all genders and requires absolutely no prior experience. We simply ask for an open heart and a spirit of respect. Our philosophy is simple: Take what resonates, and leave what doesn’t.
· Guided Meditation: A group practice to ground our energy and quiet the mind.
· Sharing Circle: You will be invited to share your own thoughts and reflections, or simply hold space and listen to others.
· Nourishment: Warm herbal tea and light snacks will be provided to keep us grounded and cozy.
🕯️ What Does 'Sacred' Mean?
To us, sacred is synonymous with intentional. It means we are carving out a dedicated moment in time to honor ourselves and the environment. It is a space for genuine human connection... and maybe some spooky tales.
🎒 What to Bring
The magic happens regardless of the temperature, so please come prepared.
There will be chairs available, but you're welcome to bring your own if you'd prefer.
Bring extra layers and a blanket. It can still get cool in the evenings.
Bring anything else the forecast dictates (umbrellas, waterproofs, gloves etc). The trees provide some natural protection from rain. If it's been raining, the ground will be muddy so walking boots are reccomended. If it's unsafe to meet in the woods (storms or strong wind), we have a back up plan.

- Location: You can meet us at the notice board in the main car park (A6 entrance) at 6pm, or go directly to the circle space. Full details to be provided by email before the event.
