Pianist/composer Louise Denson, multi-wind player Phil Bywater and bassist Hamish Houston are teaming up for an evening of melodious and groovy music making. A soulful and powerful player, Phil has vast performance experience encompassing reggae, funk, jazz, afrobeat, world music, free improv, punk, rock, musical theatre and contemporary classical music. Louise is well known on the Hobart jazz scene leading her own groups and working with saxophonists Ken Schroder and Jesse Bowden, and samba drummer Carlos Ferreira among others. Hamish is the motor behind many Hobart ensembles. They will explore some Louise and Phil originals, as well as Ellington, Cole Porter and others.
