Denim Radically Refashioned4-week series | Wednesdays
Oct 28th - Nov 18th | 6 - 8:30 PM
The 90s are back, so it’s time to dig out those overalls from the back of your closet and bring them to The Welman Project’s newest class for adults!
This skills-based class will feature techniques in screen printing, machine sewing, printing, stenciling, dyeing, distressing, mending, appliqué, patchwork, hand stitching, and using found textiles to add whimsy, depth, and visual and tactile textures to your clothing.
Our focus will be on upcycling materials and practicing sewing and painting techniques to refashion and alter clothing and accessories, maximizing your wardrobe and style!
The four-week journey will culminate in combining your newfound skills to upcycle your previously loved denim piece (jacket, jeans, or overalls) into a beloved one-of-a-kind wearable artwork! Minimal machine sewing skills are required, but if you can sew a "mostly" straight stitch, this is the class for you!
