Dive into recently released cookbook, "Zameen," with local author and chef, Sultan Ahmed, for an interactive author talk, demonstration, tasting, and tutorial. Chef Sultan will focus on the spice cookery highlighted in his book and you'll learn how to think about spices and create spice mixes that light up your palate and take your food into new dimensions of flavor. You'll watch two reference mixes be built to ratio, predict how each will taste, then learn to make 3 separate sauces utilizing the spices to perfection. No experience is needed; all are welcome."Zameen" will be available for purchase at The Book Deal, newly opened right next to the Garver Lounge. Chef Sultan will be available for signings post-event.
Ticket includes welcome snack, interactive demo and take-home jars of the spice mixes for their own cupboards. The event will consist of primarily vegan items.
