Our Certified Dementia Awareness Train the Trainer course is designed for individuals who want to confidently deliver Dementia Awareness training to others.
The course combines an understanding of dementia with practical trainer skills, helping you deliver clear, engaging and meaningful sessions that support better awareness and understanding.
You will explore what dementia is and isn't, the different types of dementia, common signs and symptoms, how dementia affects the brain, the stages of dementia and the impact on individuals. You will also develop an understanding of communication, sensory orientation, therapies, the medical and social models of dementia, and practical strategies for creating positive, person-centred environments.
The course also focuses on the role of the trainer, including how to structure and deliver an effective session, communicate information clearly and engage learners.
Delivered in connection with Dementia Forward, the course benefits from expertise and lived-experience-informed content, helping trainers deliver education that is practical, compassionate and relevant to real-world care settings.
On successful completion, attendees will have the knowledge and confidence to deliver Dementia Awareness training within their organisation or to their learners.
