Deirdre O’Connor is the author of three books of poems: Memorizing the Wind (2026) from Terrapin Books, The Cupped Field (2019), which received the Able Muse Book Award, and Before the Blue Hour (2002), recipient of the Cleveland State University Poetry Center Prize.
Her work has appeared in Poetry, Diode, Bennington Review, SWWIM, Cave Wall, Great River Review, Rust + Moth, and Journal of the American Medical Association, among other journals, and has been featured on Poetry Daily, Verse Daily, and American Life in Poetry. She has been awarded residencies at the Vermont Studio Center and the Heinrich Boll Cottage in Ireland. A native of Pittsburgh, she directs the Writing Center at Bucknell University, where she served for many years as Associate Director of the Bucknell Seminar for Undergraduate Poets.
