This training is for anyone who wishes to deepen their own practice and embark on a journey of self-discovery, as well as for those who would like to learn how to teach Deep Yin Yoga, a system developed by Heng Ni (Todd Grube).Yin Yoga has roots in Indian Hatha Yoga and evolved through the influence of Chinese traditions, including Qigong, martial arts, longevity practices and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Deep Yin Yoga works with the body, breath and mind to release tension, support the flow of energy through the meridians and create space for greater stillness and awareness. The practice is also designed to support and regulate the nervous system, cultivate Shen – the spirit or mind in Chinese medicine – and help us reconnect with our inner selves.
The Training
The training takes place over two weekends, Friday to Sunday, and combines theory, practice and tools that you can use both in your personal practice and when teaching others.
During the course, we will explore:
-Traditional and modern Yin Yoga postures
-How to establish a personal home practice
-How to structure and teach a Deep Yin Yoga class
-Yin theory and the history and philosophy of the practice
-Introduction to Chinese Medicine
-Meridians and acupressure points
-Chakras and energetic practices
-Qigong and Tai Chi-inspired movement
-Breath and body-awareness practices
-Shaking and tapping techniques
-Meditation and visualisation
-Mantras and mudras
-The use of props and adjustments
-How to create balanced and meaningful sequences
The training is suitable both for yoga teachers who want to expand their knowledge and teaching and for practitioners who simply want to go deeper into their own practice and personal journey.
You will receive a training manual written by Todd and, upon completion of the full training, a Deep Yin Yoga diploma.
