About this Event
As the musical Sylvia comes to Norwich, join Helen Pankhurst and Kim Uzzell for a lively conversation about women’s rights, independence and the power to bring about change.
Dr Helen Pankhurst CBE is a women’s rights campaigner, author and great-granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst and granddaughter of Sylvia. Drawing on family history and her own campaigning, she will reflect on Sylvia’s life, her fight for a fairer society and the relevance of her story today.
Kim Uzzell is a financial coach, speaker and founder of The Financial Wellbeing Academy. With over 35 years’ experience across wealth management and financial wellbeing, she helps women build confidence around money and take greater control of their financial futures.
Together, they will explore the connections between political voice, financial independence and equality. How far have we come since women won the vote? What barriers remain? And what can each of us do to help shape a more equal future?
There will be time for audience questions and discussion. Whether you are seeing Sylvia, interested in the suffrage movement or curious about women’s rights today, you are warmly welcome.
This event is in support of Centenary Action, the coalition campaigning for a gender-equal Parliament.
