From Frank Sinatra’s “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” to U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For”, Mat brings his own distinctive interpretation to classics from the Great American Songbook, alongside a selection of more contemporary surprises.
Combining musicianship with engaging storytelling, he explores the songs, artists and eras that shaped popular music, creating an entertaining and memorable experience for audiences.
Mat is joined by the Belper Jazz Company: Ian Beestin (drums), Paul Gray (bass) and Neil Hunter (piano). The trio regularly performs with leading figures from the UK jazz scene, including trombonist Dennis Rollins MBE, guitarist Nigel Price, and acclaimed saxophonists Greg Abate (formerly of the Ray Charles Orchestra), Alan Barnes and Alex Clarke.
