About this Event
Cheers!!!
We’re super buzzed to be brewing up another Death over Drafts!
Wednesday, September 23 | 6–8 PM
,
1821 Daly St., Los Angeles, CA 90031
Come grab a draft (your beverage of choice), connect with a supportive end-of-life community, and maybe write a letter to someone you miss. Because why should talking about death always have to be so… heavy?
Your Death over Drafts Crafters (aka Hosts):
Janelle Ketchter, Founder, Postal Service for the Dead
Lisa Pahl, CEO, The Death Deck
Stefanie Elkins, Founder, Be Present Care & Death over Drafts
💌 Got someone you wish you could write to?
Postal Service for the Dead (PSD) is an ongoing collective project inviting people to write letters to anyone in their life who has died. We’ll have paper, pens, creative supplies, and plenty of space to put some words to the people we still carry with us.
And it wouldn’t be Death over Drafts without brewing up conversations! We’ll use prompts from our favorite death-positive tool, The Death Deck, to get the conversation flowing and explore some of the many topics surrounding death, dying, grief, and end-of-life.
Come if you are curious. Come if you serve in the end-of-life space. Come if a friend or colleague invites you. Come for the draft. Come for the conversation. Come write a letter. Come as you are.
What to expect:
- All our welcome
- Event is free
- You can still come if you don't love beer ;)
- This is a super supportive community yet we are not a support group
- In this communal environment, we remind you to be responsible for your own engagement.
- There is plenty of parking.
Death over Drafts (Happy Hour) started with a brewing vision to bring people together and create meaningful connections by combining two passions—craft beer and conversations on end-of-life.....drafting a new narrative on where and when we talk on death, dying and grief!
