De’Anza is a Mexican-American artist, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known for her fusion of Mexican mysticism, witchy cumbias and haunting, story-driven songs. Originating from Santa Fe, New Mexico, an area defined by convergent cultures and rich folk art, she blends hypnotic rhythms with live instrumentation and textured beats to create a musical experience that transcends borders.
Her work has been featured on CNN, NPR, and ABC, and she was dubbed “Latin Alternative’s New Leading Lady” by OC Weekly. LA Weekly praised her as “a force of nature behind the microphone.”
In 2020, De’Anza left Los Angeles for a nomadic life in Mexico, embracing a “bedroom producer” approach while writing songs and capturing the raw sounds of everyday life—from Mayan chants and street performers to bustling city streets. Her music is rooted in ancestral rhythms and surreal, electronic ritual.
