You are invited to meander through the colourful worlds and curious moments of the artists' imaginations.Daydreams & Detours is a joint exhibition which brings together the work of Livonne Larkins and Catherine Anne in a vibrant celebration of landscape, memory, imagination and the unexpected journeys that shape the way we see the world.
Presented at the Woolshed, Strathnairn Arts, from 14th November to the 13th December 2026, the exhibition invites viewers to wander beyond the familiar—to follow colour, texture and feeling along paths that may be real, remembered or entirely imagined. Together, the artists explore people and places, not simply as something to be observed, but as something that holds stories, emotions, associations and possibilities..
For Catherine Anne, the Australian landscape is a rich source of inspiration. Working from her Melbourne studio, she creates vibrant acrylic paintings in a playful, semi-abstract style, combining bold colour, expressive brushwork and richly textured surfaces. Her works capture the distinctive character of Australian places while also reflecting the memories and emotions they evoke. Rather than seeking photographic realism, Catherine embraces an intuitive approach in which colour, rhythm and movement become a way of expressing the spirit of a landscape.
Livonne is a Blue Mountains based, Fine Art photography artist who loves to blur the lines of reality and escape into a wonderful world of whimsy and fantasy in her artwork. She grew up at the knee of her Irish Grandmother who was the ultimate storyteller; a strong, feisty and superstitious woman who fed her a diet of magic and fairy tales. With this influence, she learned to love story in all it's forms, song, literature, imagery, film, poetry. She is inspired by the pioneering spirit that has brought us to the world we now know, the dreamers, the inventors, the artists, the poets and the storytellers. They all motivate her to bring her vivid dreams and daydreams to life and to keep the magic alive.
