The Meaning Behind Sugar Skulls, Masks, and the Ofrenda
This month, our own Organiser and Hostess Beka Burrows leads us into the heart of Día de los Muertos , a festival where remembrance is joyful, colourful, and full of symbolism. Rather than retelling the whole story, Beka will open up the deeper meanings behind its most recognisable traditions and explore how they express identity, ancestry, and connection.

After the talk, you’ll create your own sugar skull or ancestral mask, a personal offering inspired by the tradition and shaped by your own stories. Materials provided.
