Dave Berger Live at The Diamond!Thursday, October 15th, 2026
7:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Ages 21+ / no cover charge.
Dave Berger traded in his drum set for an acoustic guitar over 25 years ago, and he's never looked back. Dave and his Martin DR cut their chops in the early 2000s at Cay Jam... a weekly gathering of musicians at the Parrot's Cay in south Grand Forks. Although he had his sights set on developing a solo acoustic rock show, a phone call in June 2007 derailed those plans. It was an invitation to front a band that was to be called the Downtown Horns. That band is still going strong to this day, but Dave occasionally yearns to return to the songs that started it all for him, and so a solo show is the perfect opportunity to play covers of Barenaked Ladies, Garth Brooks, Jimmy Buffett, Jim Croce, The Eagles, Bob Marley, Matchbox 20, Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, Bob Seger, Paul Simon, James Taylor, U2, and Van Morrison (along with newer artists such as Ed Sheeran and Chris Stapleton and an original song or two). During the summer months, those solo shows often take place around a campfire, but they're also perfectly suited for an indoor show!
Please join us at The Diamond on Thursday, September 17th as we welcome Dave Berger and his Martin to the stage. Don't be surprised if you also hear some foot tambourine or the occasional kazoo solo, and make sure that you're prepared to sing along!
