Join us at 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗻𝗮 for an evocative evening of Dastangoi (storytelling) as Dr. Himanshu Bajpai and Dr. Pragya Sharma bring alive the extraordinary journey of Rani Lakshmibai.
Based on historical evidence and literature, the performance traces her life from her early years to her courageous resistance against the British Empire, exploring her struggles, bravery and the strength that shaped her legacy.
🎙️ 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗘𝗗 𝗕𝗬
𝗗𝗿. 𝗛𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗵𝘂 𝗕𝗮𝗷𝗽𝗮𝗶 — A leading Indian Dastango who has performed over 500 shows in India and internationally, including at Harvard University. His work spans historical and literary narratives, and his book Qissa Qissa Lucknowa received the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2021.
𝗗𝗿. 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗴𝘆𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮 — A leading Dastango from Lucknow and one of India’s few full-time professional storytellers. With a doctorate in Economics and over 300 performances, she has performed Dastans including Jhansi Ki Rani, Durgavati, Maharana Pratap, Mirabai and Ganga.
