Dancing with Ancestors is an immersive journey with Sylvie Minot using movement, sound and the 5Rhythms to explore often unconscious family/ancestral patterns offering a way to shift and release them gently, potently.Through guided dance and ritual you’ll connect with the wisdom of your lineage and open new pathways for healing and transformation.
In this workshop, we will dance with our ancestry, which lives in our heart, soul, collective memory, and DNA. Calling on the wisdom and medicine of our lineage, the power of ancestral lands, and the spirit of the animal clans to guide our dance on this journey. We beckon our bloodlines, spirit animals, and sacred guides to help navigate a magical ancestral journey.

Through dance, movement, voice/sound, and guided group exercises, Sylvie uses each of Gabrielle Roth’s 5Rhythms—flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical, and stillness—to honor your past and create new pathways for healing.
5Rhythms is a simple meditative movement practice designed to release the dancer within every body, regardless of shape, size, age, or experience. While the dance itself is simple, it has the power to catalyze deep healing and creative expression.
All levels of fitness and agility are invited to participate. All are welcome, and no prior dance training or ability is required.
*You must be available for all three days of the workshop.
An experience that transcends dance and delves into our connection to the past. This workshop is open to everyone, with no previous experience needed.
HOURS:
Friday: 7 - 9:30 pm
Saturday: 11 am - 5 pm
Sunday: 11 am - 4 pm
LOCATION: Core Dance, 133 Sycamore Street, Decatur, Georgia
This workshop counts as 2.5 days of waves toward the teacher training prerequisite.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
14 Days in advance: $75 cancellation fee.
No refunds less than 14 days from the start of the workshop.
Workshop counts as 2.5 Waves days on the 5Rhythms teacher training path.

This workshop is for people who are new to 5Rhythms or who have danced the practice for decades. We welcome people of all cultures, identities, creeds, genders and sexualities, all sizes, abilities and life stages. You don’t need to feel strong or energetic to join us. If you're breathing, you've got all you need. Chairs available for seated dance.
