Dance and movement can help us express our feelings and ideas, discover our mood and behavior patterns, explore new approaches through playing, experimenting and improvising - and bring all of these observations into our everyday lives.
We are rooted in our body. Here lives our energy, ideas, inspiration, satisfaction, rest, feelings, relationships, pleasure and happiness. Our inner self, basically.
But how often do we actually stop and notice how our body is doing? What it feels? What it wants or needs? Our body is always there for us - in every experience, every challenge, every moment of our lives.
Movement nourishes the body just as food does. Sport is a wonderful source of strength - but movement can be so much more diverse and fulfilling than that. Shaking, slow flow, grooving, sliding on the floor, twisting, jumping, balancing, breathing, expressing. Moving through space or while sitting still. With one part of the body, passively, or with full abandon. The range is huge - and it can bring a rich palette of color into your daily life.
Do you know what your body wants right this moment? Do you know the feeling of deep satisfaction when your body truly gets what it needs?
That is what we explore in these sessions. In a safe, cosy space and surrounded by like-minded people, we listen, experiment, observe and express - from our inner world outward. We deepen our sensations, nourish our body with time, attention and movement, and strengthen our connection with ourselves - to bring more presence, inspiration and self-love into our lives.
No experience needed - just curiosity and openness.
What to expect in the session? We start with short welcome and intro. Following by arrival into body through breathing, slowing down, sensing support of the floor, observing ourselves with gentle attention. From this connection to our body sensations we slowly start moving, exploring different aspects and qualities like speed, space, forms, ideas. I will be guiding and supporting you, suggesting certain topics to explore, but it's up to you to play with these topics and listen what resonates with you in this very moment. And allow yourself to do exactly what you want, be present and enjoy this dancing flow. The movement can be gentle or intense, in a solo or improvising together with others. By the end of the session we slow down again, observing our mood and state of mind, what has changed in the body sensations, collecting important observations. We take time to exchange and share these observations, express them verbally to bring them into this reality and absorb.
I am a dance movement therapist in training, with 10 years of personal experience across different therapeutic approaches like somatic and authentic movement, art therapy, Feldenkrais, improvisation. I warmly invite you to join me on this journey to yourself.
