You're Invited to a fundraiser to Melt ICE and support Bridgeport families impacted by immigration enforcement hosted by Bridgeport Rapid Response in collaboration with Make the Road Connecticut. In 2025, in response to the increased threat of ICE enforcement from the federal government, Make the Road Connecticut began working with the Bridgeport chapter of the Democratic Socialists of CT (DSA) and other allied organizations to build out a rapid response network in Bridgeport. Now known as Bridgeport Rapid Response (BRR), the volunteer network works to create a safer community for our immigrant neighbors in and around Bridgeport. BRR trains allies to verify and document reports of ICE operations in the Bridgeport area — and intervene to create a safer community for our undocumented neighbors. We support families pre- and post-detention by connecting them to legal services, providing case support, and referring them to other support services.
In 2026, we began working with Liberated Land Co-op to provide farm shares to families who had a family member detained or deported. We invite you to be part of our fundraiser to raise funds to expand this food support work beyond the limited growing season so that we might continue to support these and other families through our growing mutual aid efforts.
