With Dance, Dance, Dance! the Library Jazz Band returns to jazz's roots as a music of motion.... whether swaying to the blues, partner dancing to Swing, Tango, or the Waltz, jazz is a music rooted in motion and this show will share an exciting range of this "music to move to" through the always exciting lens of the Library Jazz Band. Featuring music from Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Thad Jones, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Oliver Nelson, Gordon Goodwin, Charles Mingus and more.
The Library Jazz Band has quickly become a Yonkers institution, bringing the sounds of big band jazz to a wide audience, through the classics old and new including many original works by members of the band. This dynamic 17-piece jazz orchestra features five saxophones, four trombones, four trumpets, piano, guitar, bass, and drums, all outstanding professional musicians from Westchester and the surrounding areas.
