About this Event
Dana, Ireland’s first Eurovision Song Contest winner, comes to Tralee for a special live concert celebrating a remarkable career spanning more than five decades of music.
Dana made history in 1970 when, at just 18 years old, she represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Amsterdam with All Kinds of Everything. Her victory was Ireland’s first in the competition and launched her international music career. She went on to enjoy chart success in Ireland, the UK and around the world with songs including Who Put the Lights Out?, Please Tell Him That I Said Hello, Fairytale and the enduring Christmas favourite It’s Gonna Be a Cold, Cold Christmas.
Alongside her pop career, Dana has become equally well known for her inspirational music, writing and recording songs including Totus Tuus, Light the Fire and Lady of Knock. In 1993, she wrote We Are One Body for World Youth Day in Denver, Colorado, performing the song at the international youth festival attended by over a million young people.
More recently, Dana has been at the heart of the Light the Fire movement in Ireland, bringing people together through music, prayer and a shared celebration of Christian faith. Inspired by the story of St Patrick and Ireland’s Christian heritage, the gatherings have welcomed people from across the country and beyond.
This special concert brings together music from across Dana’s remarkable career, from the pop songs that first brought her international success to the inspirational music that has become an important part of her work.
Tickets are on sale now for €33.
