About this Event
What makes a data professional worth shortlisting? And what makes a role worth applying for?
Join DAMA Melbourne for a practical evening exploring data and AI recruitment from both sides of the hiring table.
Whether you are considering your next career move, building a team or helping others progress, this session will examine how to make expectations clearer, demonstrate capability and have more useful hiring conversations.
We will be joined by Angela Tan Jenkin, Business Director at Profusion Group, and Hannah Smit, Data, Analytics & AI Account Manager at Randstad Digital.
Through short briefings, a moderated discussion and an interactive hiring exercise, we will explore what employers need, how candidates can communicate their value and where recruitment processes can improve.
For professionals considering their next move
Explore how to explain your contribution beyond a list of tools, present credible evidence of business impact and ask better questions about potential roles.
For hiring managers and team leaders
Consider how to define realistic requirements, assess capability beyond a polished application and communicate the opportunity more clearly to candidates.
The Hiring Table: Would You Apply? Would You Shortlist?
Put yourself on both sides of a hiring decision.
Using fictional examples, we will examine a role advertisement and a candidate profile, discuss what is missing and demonstrate how each could be improved.
Bring your questions and be ready to contribute.
