An afternoon of reading, reflection and conversation with acclaimed Tamil writer Perumal Murugan.
Avvai Tamil Center proudly presents the Dallas Tamil Literary Conference 2026, a special literary gathering featuring writer, poet and teacher Perumal Murugan.
This is more than an opportunity to meet a celebrated author. It is a reader-centered literary forum where readers, writers, teachers, students and literary enthusiasts come together to explore his works, exchange interpretations and engage in meaningful conversations with the author himself.

- Readers’ Reflections: Selected presenters share their critical interpretations of Perumal Murugan’s novels, short stories, poetry and translated works.
- Conversation with the Author: A special interactive session, My Writing and My Readers, where Perumal Murugan responds to readers’ reflections and questions.
- Literary Discussions: Explore themes of Kongu regional life, language, caste, gender, family, rural traditions, ecology, identity and freedom of expression.
- Book Exhibition: Discover selected Tamil editions and English translations of his literary works.
- Book Signing: An opportunity to meet the author and have your books signed, subject to the final program arrangements.
