About this Event
Winter in Wisconsin is coming for your pipes, your gutters, and your heating bill. Let's get ahead of it together.
Dad-Vice is back for a Winter Edition. Brandon Buell, Broker Associate at Buell Real Estate Group, brings his construction background to a room-by-room, hands-on walk-through of everything your home needs before the deep freeze. This is the advice a dad would give you, minus the "when I was your age" speech.
What we'll cover:
- Outdoor faucets and hoses: the five-minute task that prevents a burst pipe
- Furnace filters and tune-ups: what to change, what to hire out
- Gutters, downspouts, and how ice dams actually form
- Weatherstripping and caulking the drafts that eat your heating bill
- Sump pumps, floor drains, and basement moisture
- Detectors, humidity, and keeping your home healthy all season
You'll leave with a take-home winterization checklist and answers to every "wait, am I supposed to be doing that?" question you've got.
Who it's for: Homeowners at any stage. New buyers get a head start, longtime owners get a refresher, and everyone gets to feel smug when the first cold snap hits.
