About this Event
Step into the rich history of Chicago’s Czech community on a guided walking tour of Pilsen, one of the city’s most culturally significant neighborhoods.
Once the heart of Czech immigrant life in Chicago, Pilsen still bears the marks of the people, institutions, and traditions that helped shape the area. Participants will visit historic buildings and landmarks while learning about the neighborhood’s Czech roots and lasting legacy.
The tour will be led by Irena Čajková, Instructional Professor of Czech and Spanish at the University of Chicago and an active member of Chicago’s Czech community. Drawing on her academic expertise and personal engagement with the local Czech-American community, she will provide unique insights into Pilsen’s past and present.
Please note: Capacity is limited and advance registration is required.
