Her move to New York propelled her onto the international stage. She performed and recorded with Roy Hargrove, impressed the notoriously tough legendary Harlem Apollo audience, and was invited by Stephen Sondheim to appear in a City Centre tribute with Wynton Marsalis. Her Sondheim album Move On earned the composer’s praise, and her version of “Marry Me a Little” received a Grammy nomination.
Now based in New Orleans after a creatively transformative period in Costa Rica and new motherhood, Aimée continues to expand her musical world. Her latest release on Whirlwind Recordings, à Fleur de Peau, created with producer Jake Sherman, showcases her signature blend of jazz sophistication, global influences,
and irresistible rhythmic energy.
