Do you know how to keep your phone, computer and important online accounts safe from cyber attackers?Scammers are becoming increasingly convincing, and AI is making it even easier for them to sound and appear genuine. This relaxed, practical session explains how common scams work, the warning signs to look for, and the simple steps you can take to better protect your devices, accounts and money.
We’ll look at passwords, two-step login, banking and email security, as well as newer threats such as AI-generated messages and cloned voices. You’ll leave with greater confidence about what to look out for, what to do if something doesn’t feel right, and where to turn if something goes wrong.
Key Takeaways:
Recognise scams and strengthen your online security: Learn how to spot common warning signs, use stronger passwords and two-step login, and keep important accounts such as banking, credit cards and email safer.
Feel more confident responding when something doesn’t seem right: Understand newer threats such as AI-generated messages and cloned voices, simple precautions such as a family “safe word”, and what to do or who to contact if something goes wrong.
Please note: You will not be asked to share any personal information during this session. The focus is on practical knowledge, demonstrations and useful tips. You’ll leave with a checklist and access to resources to help keep yourself, friends and family safer online. As AI becomes smarter, getting the basics right is more important than ever.
