Join illustrator and printmaker Abbie Mooney for an introduction to the art of cyanotype—also known as "sun-printing"—and create your very own botanical prints. This workshop is the perfect way to get creative as the season shifts, with spring just around the corner. Using seasonal plants and flowers, you will learn to craft vivid photographic prints to take home.
In this workshop, you will be guided through the traditional photographic process: combining light-sensitive chemicals, applying them to paper, and exposing them to UV light. Using your own compositions of foraged materials as stencils, you will create beautiful cyan prints. To give your artwork a personal touch, you may wish to bring cuttings from your own garden or surroundings to reflect the space around you.
