MEETING POINT at the Cross of Sacrifice near the main entrance.

Among the 13 Acres at Nottingham (Rock) Cemetery there are 101 Casualties from both World Wars including 2 Canadians and 2 Australians buried in Scattered Graves.

The first soldier buried here was Gunner Albert Atkin aged 42 originally buried in a Pauper's Grave and thanks to the CWGC has a more respectful place of rest. The Cemetery was opened in 1856 and designed by Edwin Patchitt.

Hear about the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and stories of some of the men and women that are commemorated in this cemetery, including a professional footballer, nurse and a victim of the Nottingham Blitz in the Great War.

The tour lasts approx. 60 mins and covers about 500 metres on paths and grass with uneven ground and slopes.

Parking is available on-site and nearby. There are no facilities or toilets on site. Please bring water if required.

Please dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear.

Only assistance dogs are allowed in the cemetery.

Please note there can be last minute cancellations. This can be due to various reasons including illness, site issues and weather. We will email you as soon as we can, but this could include the morning of the tour, so please check your emails prior to leaving for the tour.

The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) aims to actively engage all communities with the work of the CWGC by telling the inspiring stories through education and outreach projects.

The CWGF is an independent charity registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (1171947) and Scotland (SC051982).
