AN ECUMENICAL PRAYER VIGIL FOR YOUTH LOST TO GUN VIOLENCEThe St. Margaret of Scotland Living Justice Ministries - Gun Sense: For the Common Good team invites the community to an ecumenical prayer vigil honoring the lives of young people lost to gun violence in St. Louis and across the country.
Held in remembrance of the fourth anniversary of the tragic shooting at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School and Collegiate School of Medicine and Bioscience, this gathering will also honor the many young lives cut short by gun violence throughout the past year. Through prayer, music and reflection, the community will come together to remember those who have died, support those who continue to grieve, and renew its commitment to building a safer future for all young people.
All are welcome. The service is planned for adults and teens; families are welcome, though parents are encouraged to use discretion when bringing younger children.
Communal prayer, music and reflection will begin at 4 p.m. The St. Vincent de Paul Chapel will also be open for quiet, individual prayer and will remain available for a time following the service.
