Dads and father figures, it’s time to build your curl-care confidence!

Dads Can Do Hair! is an intimate, hands-on educational workshop created for dads and father figures who want to learn how to care for and style their child’s textured hair.

This is not a dad-and-child social event, and children do not need to attend. Each registered attendee will be provided with a textured mannequin head to use during the workshop. Versus Salon Curl Specialists will also perform live demonstrations on child models with different curl types so attendees can see how techniques may vary across waves, curls and coils.

TICKETS

Tickets are $25 per dad or father figure.

Registration is for the adult workshop participant only. Children and additional guests do not need tickets and should not attend unless they have been selected as an event model.

Limited spots are available to allow for personalized instruction and hands-on coaching.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

• Understanding waves, curls, coils and individual hair needs
• Cleansing and conditioning textured hair correctly
• Gentle detangling and sectioning techniques
• Proper product application
• Creating ponytails, puffs and other simple styles
• Using barrettes and accessories
• Blow-drying and stretching curls safely
• Preventing unnecessary heat damage
• Protecting curls and styles overnight
• Refreshing the hair between wash days
• Common curl-care mistakes to avoid

HOW THE WORKSHOP WORKS

Versus Salon Curl Specialists will explain and demonstrate each part of a healthy curl-care routine. Attendees will then practice the techniques on their provided textured mannequin heads with guidance and coaching from the stylists.

Live demonstrations will also be performed on child models representing different curl types. The child models are arranged separately by Versus Salon and are not guests included with attendee registration.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

3:00 PM — Welcome and Introductions
Meet the Versus Salon Curl Specialists, learn about VCurls and begin understanding different curl types and hair needs.

3:20 PM — The Perfect Wash Day
Learn cleansing, conditioning, detangling, sectioning, product application and common mistakes to avoid.

4:00 PM — Live Styling Demonstrations
Watch Versus stylists demonstrate approachable techniques and styles on child models with different curl types.

4:45 PM — Blow-Drying and Stretching
Learn when to use heat, how to blow-dry correctly and how to stretch curls while minimizing heat damage.

5:15 PM — Bedtime Hair Care
Discuss satin protection, overnight maintenance, morning refreshing and preserving styles throughout the week.

5:45 PM — Coached Practice and Q&A
Continue practicing on your textured mannequin head, receive one-on-one guidance and ask questions about your child’s curl-care needs.
