About this Event
Introduced by Sir James MacMillan, composer and artistic director of the award-winning Cumnock Tryst, this concert presents the London premieres of eight new works by composers from the Cumnock Tryst International Composer Summer School 2024, performed by students of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Academy of Music.
Written for string trio and bass/contrabass clarinet, the programme showcases music developed through close collaboration between composers and performers during the summer school under the expert guidance of Sir James MacMillian and Oscar Bettison (Professor of Composition, John Hopkins University, Peabody Institute). Originally premiered in 2024 on the historic Dumfries House Estate in Ayrshire, the works presented here represent some of the most exciting young compositional voices from around the world.
