About this Event
As employees, the way we communicate and collaborate with each other shapes the culture of our organizations. This workshop introduces cultural humility as a framework for how we serve and support one another as colleagues. Together, we’ll explore equity concepts and practice using a practical tool for reflection and building more equitable workplace practices.
Participants will:
- Reflect on who is most impacted by their daily decisions, communication, and leadership choices at work
- Learn the core principles of cultural humility: lifelong learning, challenging power imbalances, and institutional accountability
- Understand the difference between cultural competence and cultural humility, and why it matters for staff culture
- Practice using CHESS Cards to examine bias, equity, and positionality in workplace dynamics
- Apply cultural humility to real-world scenarios with colleagues through role-play and discussion
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of cultural humility and practical tools to strengthen collaboration, trust, and equity within your team and organization.
