Join us at The Jamb for the next installment of our Art History Workshop & Activity Series as we explore one of the most revolutionary movements in modern art.In the early 1900s, artists like Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque challenged centuries of artistic tradition by breaking apart reality and rebuilding it through multiple viewpoints, geometric forms, and fragmented perspectives. The result was Cubism, a movement that forever changed how artists think about seeing and representing the world.
During this interactive workshop, we'll:
Learn the history and ideas behind Cubism
Watch a short video exploring the movement and its artists
Participate in guided discussion and Q&A
Create our own Cubist-inspired still life drawing using conte crayons and toned paper
Through a series of fun drawing exercises, you'll learn how Cubist artists transformed everyday objects into bold compositions of overlapping shapes, shifting perspectives, and dramatic value contrasts.
No previous drawing experience is required. Whether you're an artist, art lover, or simply curious about modern art, this workshop is designed to be accessible and engaging for everyone.
