PANORAMIC is our newest monthly live series presented by Control x The Attic. It's dedicated to experimentation and cross-border music culture. Taking place one Wednesday a month, it brings together live acts from North and Central Africa, Europe and the SWANA region.
We’re stripping away the tired, lazy label of “world music”. Panoramic isn’t about folkloric showcases or exoticized nostalgia. Instead of treating Western Europe as the default filter for global culture, we’re tuning into decentralized scenes across the globe, making space for radical improvisation and electronic mutation.
Every edition will also feature local live acts, creating a direct, ongoing connection between Bucharest and the global underground, and for this installment we are inviting:
______________
Nadah El Shazly
Egyptian-born, Montreal-based producer, vocalist, composer, and actor.
Renowned for her blending of experimental sounds with traditional Arabic influences and improvisational styles, she’s garnered international acclaim for her genre-defying artistry, mesmerising vocals, and avant-garde arrangements. Her debut album, 2017’s ‘Ahwar’, earned global praise for its merging of heritage and innovation, and established Nadah as a leading figure in the contemporary music landscape.
El Shazly's live performances are equally immersive, combining her enthralling voice with intricate sound manipulation and dynamic collaborations with other musicians. She has worked with a host of innovators including Sam Shalabi, Elvin Brandhi, Maurice Louca, and many more. She’s graced stages at prestigious venues and festivals worldwide, including Irtijal, Le Guess Who?, Rewire, Best Kept Secret, FIMAV, Roskilde, Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

______
3 Phaz
Co-producer of Nadah El Shazly’s latest album, 3Phaz joins her for the Bucharest show, bringing a musical language of his own to the live setup.
Known for guarding his anonymity as closely as his music, he works with fractured rhythms and Shaabi-inspired electronics, with percussion at the centre. His 2023 release DrumTraTrax, released on Colombian label TraTraTrax, pushed that language further, with Mexican producer OMAAR adding an even more percussive interpretation on his remix.
_______
Suce Fraga
Outernational pseudo-ghetto sensitivity, fragile neo-femme power and genre cannibalism. Self-taught producer & singer, traverses with ease different breeds of electronica while being immersed in trap, hip-hop, r&b, and no-step grooves.
______
Plevna
also known as Horațiu Șerbănescu, is a Romanian producer who skillfully blends delicate 1980s nostalgia with contemporary local oriental melody. His music explores a unique balance that resonates with a diverse audience. With a rhythmic infusion of the delightfully twisted 9/8 groove, Plevna's soundscapes make contact with a multiverse meticulously constructed. Prepare for an immersive experience filled with haunting tunes and unfamiliar melancholy during his performances.
