About this Event
In this interactive session, you will: Explore the Power of the Zambia: Discover the history of the zambia (the multi-purpose wraparound cloth) and the dhuku (traditional headwrap). Try them on yourself to experience how they are worn for warmth, community respect, and daily life.
Uncover Sacred Symbolism: Learn about the geometric visual languages of Zimbabwe—from the ancient Chevron stone masonry of Great Zimbabwe to modern geometric textile masters like Esther Mahlangu.
Hear Jedidah’s Story: Hear Jedidah’s personal journey as a Shona artist and Cultural Champion while exploring physical, heavily textured samples of her story-led artwork.
