About this Event
Discover the art of hand-building at this exciting inperson workshop for curious creators. Come get hands on , sample the craft and start your pottery journey. Learn some core tchniques and create your own original Xmas decorations while learning about traditional and contemporary ceramic practices.
We will work with simple clay forms to make festive pieces -think stars, trees , baubles and small decorative items. You will get to shape, smooth and texture your pieces and add your own surface designs .I'll guide you through the process so everyone can enjoy a fun tactile pottery experience.
all clay, tools and necessary equipment for the activity are provided.
3 pieces will be fired. If you get particularly creative extra pieces can be fired at an extra cost.
We will be working in white earthenware so your finished fired creation will be a Xmassy white matt finish.
We are running a follow up glaze session on Sunday 6th December where there will be a rainbow of glazes for you to choose from and your finished work will be ready to collect the following week.
If you would prefer to take your creation away on the day we can offer an air dry clay option that you can paint as you please at home.
This beginner friendly session invites you to try the fundamentals of handbuilding in a welcoming friendly setting.
