We live in a world where stories seem limitless. With thousands of films, programmes and online platforms at our fingertips, we are told we can see every corner of the globe from our screens. But whose stories are really being told? And who gets to tell them?
Join us for an evening of South Asian short films and conversation as we explore questions of representation, voice and belonging. Through a selection of five thought-provoking short films from filmmakers based in India, Bangladesh, Scotland and England, we'll step into different lives, experiences and perspectives, and consider what it means to see the world through someone else's eyes.
After the screenings, we'll come together for an informal, open discussion about the films, reflecting on the stories we encountered, what resonated, what surprised us, and why it matters who tells a story and how it is told.
Whether you're a film enthusiast or simply curious to discover new perspectives, everyone is welcome. No prior knowledge of film or South Asian cinema is needed.
All films will be subtitled in English.
