About this Event
Technology Scotland is launching a new series of cross-sector events connecting Scotland’s critical technologies community with key local adoption markets. Developed in partnership with relevant sector organisations, the series will bring technology developers together with industry to explore real challenges, accelerate technology adoption and create new opportunities for collaboration and business.
The first event in the series will focus on energy systems and is being delivered in partnership with the Scottish Partnership in Energy and Engineering Research & Innovation (SPEERI). SPEERI works collaboratively with academia, industry, the public sector and government to maximise the impact of Scotland’s energy and engineering research and innovation.
Scotland’s energy system is becoming increasingly complex, connected and data-intensive. Energy operators face growing pressure to improve asset reliability and lifetime, operate in harsh environments, manage increasingly complex infrastructure, make better use of operational data and control costs - all while maintaining security of supply.
At the same time, Scotland has rapidly developing capabilities across critical technologies, including photonics, quantum, semiconductors, sensing and connectivity. The opportunity is not simply to understand these technologies, but to identify where they can solve real industrial problems and where they can be deployed, demonstrated or trialled.
This event will bring together the energy sector and Scotland’s critical technologies community to explore where these technologies are already creating value and how they could help address emerging challenges across energy infrastructure and systems.
The event is designed for professionals working across energy, engineering and critical technologies, particularly those involved in innovation, R&D, operations, asset management, maintenance, future systems and technology strategy.
