About this Event
Crisis Recognition & De-escalation Training
An 8-hour, in-person training for anyone who wants real, practiced confidence handling tense situations, rideshare and delivery drivers, retail and customer-facing workers, healthcare workers, parents, realtors and home-service providers, and anyone who's ever wished they'd known what to say in the moment. No badge, no uniform, no prior experience required, a full day of hands-on practice, not a lecture.
You'll leave able to recognize early signs that a situation is escalating, and apply calm, practical communication skills grounded in the LEAPS framework, the same core approach used in professional crisis training, adapted for everyday life. The day includes extensive live scenario practice on the MILO Range simulator across real-world situations like road rage, a heated customer exchange, a tense patient or visitor interaction, a neighbor dispute, and family conflict, along with a module on personal safety planning and recognizing when a situation is beyond what words can resolve, plus guidance on local community resources, mediation services, victim advocacy, and personal safety support, for when a conflict needs more than a good conversation.
Every participant receives a Certificate of Participation.
