Cricket Blue celebrates the release of their sophomore album Sweet Animal with a very special hometown album release show at Burlington’s First Unitarian Universalist Church (the church at the top of Church Street). Laura Heaberlin and Taylor Smith will be joined by an 11-piece orchestra of musicians from Vermont’s classical, jazz, and folk scenes. With strings, winds, piano, drums, guest vocalists, and more, this will be the one show where Cricket Blue attempts to bring the full musical world of Sweet Animal to life, live on stage!
Opening the night will be Lily Talmers . Cricket Blue are enormous fans of her music, and her extraordinary voice and songwriting have earned her a growing national and international audience. From her own website: "Her lyrics are spiritual and strange—vivid images that range from sludge-covered and dismal to childlike and wondrous."
